September 18, 1980 was the night Greg Laurie spoke and the Darrel Mansfield band was playing at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. A friend of ours was bugging all of us about Jesus. This guy was getting to be a pain, yet some of the stuff he was saying was starting to sink in.I wasn't ready to stop my life style, didn't want to clean up my act, wasn't good enough for church yet. Danny told me to come as you are and you will see. So Barbie, my girlfriend, and I went with Ruppe to see what all his excitement was about. The band was awesome and funny, the speaker was a long haired surfer guy, he was funny and serious.When he had us close our eyes, that was it !!! I knew Jesus was coming back in 1984, and I had better be ready. So I went forward to dedicate my life for Jesus. As I was up front I looked to my left and very much to my surprise , was my girlfriend Barbie over to the left of me by 20 feet.Wow, I thought, here is a Mormon girl accepting Jesus the same time as me.This was absolutely amazing !! Now the weird part, the lights were low yet one light was BEAMING down on her, I heard " This is your wife". Very cool, I got a Savior and wife, both appointed by God on the same night. Barbie and I were married by Carl Tuttle on April 10, 1982, and 27 years later are still loving Jesus, and each other. It has not been a smooth ride, but an amazing journey so far.I came to Jesus just as I was, and He has done alot of changing in our lives, but that is for another story.
