Hey Kevin,
wow you really gave me a lot to think about. It is a trip how some churches do things all in the name of " church growth " but all you have to do is look at the book of act's " And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Acts 2:47..It's up to us if we are willing to stay steadfast in the word and in fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Im not much one for strict programs and stuff but I do relize that our God is a God of order and the Holy Spirit is here to guide us into all truth. Are you going to be attending RF as well? Cant wait to meet ya. Maybe we can get a coffee or something, if RF is going to be in Orange I know this mexica restraught right off of collins and tustin called Panchos. Oh man talk about great food, any whole in the wall that the health dept wants to shut down usually has the best food, lolololol. It really is a nice restraught, and the food is great. Take care Kevin and thanks for the feed back I like reading what you have to say.. In His Grip.. Ernest..
Hi Kevin,
Wow! Great soapbox on Ernie's page! Love it! See, I knew you had it in you! That, my friend, is blogging! :) I can see why you and Carl are friends! I concur that the church is devoid of spiritual creativity. It would be exciting to see a true renaissance in the Church. I think the seeker sensitive movement, for the most part, was a man-made attempt at this as creative arts ministries boomed in churches and reflected the copy-cat/plagiarism that you mentioned. I think it was enough to entice the world to come through the doors, but lacking spiritual originality, they are starting to leave. The formulaic approach to inspiration just doesn’t cut it. Like you said, “All creativity is from the gifting of the Holy Spirit.” It can only come when we spend time alone with the Creator.
I like what you said about worship. I treasure worship. I spent a lot of time looking for a church, and it wasn't until I worshipped with Carl and our worship band that I felt at home again. Being entertained is not important to me, but having a psalmist like Carl who can help me enter into God's presence is very important.
I have a few more comments but will hold off lest I take up your whole comment page. :)
Hey, that's so great that you accepted Christ in 1976 at 16. I accepted Christ in 1974 at 13. Wasn't it such a great time to be a Christian teenager? It was just so much fun growing in my faith and exciting time in Church history.
Hey Kevin,
read what you posted to Karen about the western church, did you know that some churches are playing rock and roll music instead of worship in there service?? I just tripped out when I heard it. I like the doobie brothers but come on. No joke, I walk in and they were jamming black water by the doobies. The lord did say in the last days that people will fade away, it is exciteing and yet sad to be living to see what others only dreamed of.. in his grip.. ernie
Hey, Kevin,
Sorry to hear you had to sell the graven image. Idolatry just isn't what it used to be! :) I hear ya about the current picture. That's why I am a shamrock. Besides all of the blue people, we are the only objects. Wait, there is a worship album cover.
