I think that during corporate worship our focus should be on the One who is worthy, not ourselves. It's not about being entertained on Sunday mornings. I prefer seamless worship as it helps me forget about the cares of this world and focus on giving God praise. It's hard for me when I sing a song, hear an announcement, sing a couple of more songs, hear more stuff, song, etc. The interruptions make it difficult for me to stay engaged in worship, and I end up feeling like I am just singing songs with a group of people.
That it is, in fact, worship. Churches are overcome with performance driven agendas. No matter how amazing a band; not matter how large a crowd- if it's not an individual, intimate worship of Jesus, it's just motion. Most churches I've visited have gone far away from any form of worship, and are into the real of entertainment.
wow,
you got me. lol. speaking just for myself, corp worship is a time of his people gathering to seek his face and not just his hand, not caring who is leading. Just commng together in the name of jesus to worship him and give him our love, hurts, adoration, emotions, everything. And when others who arent that familar with worship say like standing, lifting there hands, singing, see those of us who are familar with worship can be examples to what pure worship is. There really is strenght that I find when were all on the same page in worship, especially when its a song we all know and are very familar with. It puts us in one accord and prepares our hearts for the word that should follow..
Man sis, you got me good with this one, lolol.. hope this helped..

Hi Ernie,

I am not sure if you noticed that the first question posted in the Forum section is ....
What do you believe is the most important aspect of corporate worship?
Corporate worship as opposed to small group worship, are not too different. For me, the most important aspect of corporate worship is gathering together to throw our love to God. It is a one way throw, not expecting anything in return. God loves us all the time and sometimes we need to go 100%, and just worship and give Him back the love He has given us.
Small group worship is definitely more intimate with God. It seems to be more adoration and with some expectancy of the Holy Spirit. It also really prepares you for prophecy, prayer, and ministry.
My favorite thing to do in this world is to worship God.
I believe the most important aspect of corporate worship is giving ourselves completely to Him. Gathering as His body to be with Him, abandoning ourselves completely in Him. Giving all Glory, and Honor and Praise that is due His name. It is in this place of abandonment, of great intimacy that we meet Him, we see Jesus and we experience His awesome presence, His peace and his amazing Love for us. I have had some of my most powerful times of corporate worship waiting silently before the Lord with others in seeking His face. It is at these times, hearing his voice, being intimate with Him, where times stops and eternity begins. When we get a taste of Heaven on Earth now, the Kingdom of God manifest among His people and His glory falling on us transforming us into His likeness ever increasingly. For this is our act of worship, to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, Holy, Holy unto the Lord.
