Is it wrong to ask for support to go on a missions trip? I cant really find a solid answer in the word. I beleive where God guides he provides. I have a letter written out but am somewhat hesistant to send it. Now im behind on where I should be for my deposit this wed's.. Can you share with me how you've seen it done and what routes others have taken.
In his grip. Ernie
Hi Ernie, I have seen it done many ways and I don't see where it would be wrong. But I think it should be done in a way that gives the person you are sending the 'letters' to a clear understanding of what you are doing and why you are doing it. Also what you are doing yourself to support this effort. Something like, ' I have saved about half of what need through my job and am in need of additional funding to make this happen....' Not very good but I think you get the idea.
Just remember people get bombarded with this kind of thing and many already have committed to other ministries.
thanks Carl,
I spoke with my sisters and some family, its easier to talk with them about it. And I will send my letter out as well. It's just like you said people get bombarded with stuff like this. Bottom line is I will do the foot work and if the Lord is in it nothing can stop it??? in his grip. Ernie
ps. Thank you..
I hear ya on this one. It's not easy for me either, but I do know that when people help financially there is also a sense of being part of the team. The investment goes beyond financial to prayer and general interest in the missionary. It keeps us humble to depend on others. I'll be praying for you!
